On April 9, 2025, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the government’s support for the project, according to the Bedford Independent. The announcement included the release of the first official concept art for the park.
Initial resort plans also feature a 500-room hotel and a retail, dining and entertainment complex. It will be the first Universal-branded theme park in the UK.
